A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
